Kona-chan Up Close and Personal
Konata, nicknamed "Kona-chan" by her friends is an athletic and intelligent girl who, despite these attributes, is not a member of any sports club and has grades that are a bit uneasy. Her laziness at school is due to her love for anime and video games (something which we all can relate to ne?). She claims that if she engages in any activities that requires after-school commitments, she'd miss her favorite anime shows on TV! Konata also gets bored easily especially when required to do something that does not interest her. Her laziness in school is a bit compensated by her ability to pull an "all-nighter" a day before an exam. That is why she still manages to pass despite her lack of interest and non-devotion to studying. Kona-chan's interest in both anime and video games was influenced by her father.
Since she spends quite a large sum of money on video games and doujinshi, Konata was lucky enough to get a part-time job at a cosplay cafe. Konata plays the role of a male character in an online game and is married in that world. Her significant other in the game is ironically a male gamer using a female character. She often plays online games late into the night; hence why she tends to fall asleep in class, which makes her a frequent victim to her teacher Nanako's fists.

About Lucky Star (Anime and Manga)
Lucky Star is a Japanese four-panel comic strip created by Kagami Yoshimizu. The strip has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comptiq magazine since January 2004. Like many yonkoma (4koma) manga, it has no real plot, and typically focuses on the daily lives of the characters. However, the strip has become much more popular than expected. That is why on August 24, 2005 a drama CD was released. The series was later made into a Nintendo DS video game entitled Lucky Star Moe Drill which was released on December 1, 2005. By September of 2006, Kyoto Animation has made the said series into an anime that would air for 24 episodes. The anime series portrays the lives of several school girls attending a Japanese high school with a very loose humor tone. The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move onto their second and third year.
